Fête de la Musique, also known as World Music Day, will be celebrated at Alliance Française de Trivandrum on June 21 and in Kochi on June 28.
Fête de la Musique celebrates music which is a unifying force, a thread which connects all irrespective of any difference in race, color, accent or creed and brings together world to a musical platform. Its prime objective is to promote music (in all its diversities) and musicians (be it amateur or professional).
The idea of the World Music Day was conceptualized first in France and introduced in 1982 in Paris. Ever since, the festival has become an international phenomenon, celebrated on the same day, in more than 460 cities, in 110 countries.
In its 33rd edition, Alliance Française de Trivandrum is offering an open stage from 5.00 pm to all budding music enthusiasts. This stage is open to all kinds of musical expressions: solo,band, classical, contemporary, rock, jazz, reggae…and gives an opportunity to showcase musical talents.
