An exhibition of Malayalam Calligraphy by Bhattathiri

Alliance Française de Trivandrum, the French language and cultural centre in Kerala, is happy to start a new cultural season with the presentation of   ‘Ka Cha Ta Tha Pa’: An exhibition of Malayalam Calligraphy by Bhattathiri from 4 -12 October 2013 at David Hall, Fort Kochi.

Ka Cha Ta Tha Pa is a selection of Bhattathiri’s works for leading Malayalam periodicals for the last three decades.

Ka Cha Ta Tha Pa will be inaugurated at 5.30pm on 4 October, and would be open to the public from 11am to 7pm from 4 -12 October 2013.

Bhattathiri will be conducting a Calligraphy Workshop for children, explaining and demonstrating the nuances of Malayalam Calligraphy on 5 October at 10.30am- 12.30noon at David Hall. Entry is by registration for children below 16 yrs. There are limited numbers of seats for the workshop, on first come first serve basis.

A second workshop on Malayalam calligraphy is also being organised for adults on 12 October, 10.30am- 12.30noon at David Hall. Anyone interested can participate.

We are also launching a Malayalam handwriting competition along with the exhibition. To participate, children are requested to write the Malayalam Alphabets ( Aksharamala) and  four lines of any Malayalam poem in two separate sheets and submit it to us on or before 10 October. Of the submissions, best ten will be given prizes. The competition is open to all students below 16 years. Submissions have to be send to: Alliance Française de Trivandrum, Forest office Lane,Vazhuthacaud, Trivandrum-14
