Café Scientifique on 21 January, 6.00pm @ Alliance Française de Trivandrum. The focus of the third edition is Water!
The Café Scientifique is a discussion platform to bring common man nearer to science and scientific issues. The objective is to bring water related issues into focus. The presentations will be followed by Q and A, to help an open discussion on ‘water’ where concerns of common man can be raised.
The key note speakers are:
Dr. Srikumar Chattopadhyaya , Scientist G (Retd), Center for Earth Sciences, Trivandrum, will give a presentation on the Water resources of Kerala.
S. Vishwanath, Director, Biome and water activist, Bengaluru, will highlight water crisis and solutions in relation to a large city like Bengaluru and also focuses on how sustainable can a city be in terms of utilisation of water resources.
Dr. Achuthsankar S. Nair, Professor of Computer Science, University of Kerala, will speak about water memories, particularly of Thiruvananthapuram.
The Café Scientifique will be organized once every two months at Alliance Française de Trivandrum. Each session will discuss a new topic related to scientific questions affecting common man.
