The perfect balance between a terrific rhythm and beautiful harmonies, playfulness, sensitivity in the play – this is what is striking about EYM Trio and this is what keeps their public spellbound. They go up on stage and suddenly time stops. With a strong musical identity and maturity, this is just their beginning.
EYM Trio is a band born of the meeting between Elie Durfour (piano), Yann Phayphet (double bass) and Marc Michel (drums), on a day of November of 2010 in Lyon (France). Quickly, they create a strong repertory including personal compositions, covers and traditional Bulgarian themes.
Thanks to this reclaimed musical mix, EYM creates a very personal and captivating universe, recognizable right from the very first chords and inviting the public on a journey.
Among their influences are jazz legends such as Duke Ellington, Chick Correa, Michel Petrucciani …, and modern musicians and bands like Avishaï Cohen, E.S.T, Joshua Redman ….
Since their beginning in the studios of the Lyon Music Conservatory, they keep growing up, having a beautiful path.
