The exhibition will be inaugurated on 21 July, 5.30pm.
Ms B Jayasree thinks her paintings look at the human condition through events and the turmoil they create. She takes freedom with colours to kindle the sense of abstraction. She is more comfortable with abstract work as it gives the artist freedom to explore and to experiment. But she feels too much of abstraction might move the work away from the human feel.
The present series of work tries to look issues of contemporary relevance from the outside. It tries to understand the process of “dys-titling” that humans undergo.Thus ‘Untitled’ is simultaneously a state as well as a process.
Being mostly self initiated into painting, she enjoys the freedom from academic controls. She was supported in her growth initially by Shri Ravishanker and later by Shri B D Dethan. She has done her Bachelors in English and in law and Master’s in Commerce. Ms Jayasree belongs to Trivandrum where she now lives and works.
She has participated in several group exhibitions. Her recent solo exhibition received critical acclaim.
