‘Sketches n’ Bronze’: An Exhibition of Sketches and Sculptures by Usha Ramachandran

The exhibition will be inaugurated by Sri NN Rimzon @ 5.30pm on 16 February @ Art gallery, Alliance Française de Trivandrum.

Usha Ramachandran is a self taught artist with no formal education in art. She has taken ideas from cinemas, news-papers, photographs and people I come across everyday. Her works are very direct and objective. They are intentionally ordinary. According to Usha “I convey no message through my work. They are not ‘personal’. I offer no philosophy for life via my works. I try to present whatever interests me, moves or touches me. I like to leave a space for the viewer to fill in wherever possible. Creating each work has given me great joy and after each piece is done I feel great elation and feel more alive”
