The Sacred Grove- Trees of Vrindavan
An Exhibition of textile artworks
by Medha Bhatt Ganguly
The exhibition will be inaugurated by Dr George Onakkoor @ 10.30am on 20 August @ Art gallery, Alliance Française de Trivandrum, followed by a presentation by the artist herself, who would take us through the process of her art, her inspiration, her experiences with rural crafts and stories that gave birth to her creations.
One essential feature of her works is the reuse of fabric and paper discards, that send an aesthetic message of concern for our environment.
The exhibition features cloth hangings and collages depicting trees of Vrindavan patterned from fabric and paper discards using techniques of applique, embroidery and embellishment. This collection of Textile Art is inspired from music, paintings and literary works related to the myth of Krishna.
The exhibition is on till 3 September.
