Date: 18th November,2022
Time: From 3:30 – Let’s Talk session, 4:30 pm – Exhibition

The film project was born following a residency carried out in February-March 2020 in India in Cochin, at the invitation of Alliance Francaise de Trivandrum and Institut Français India. This research phase focused on visual and sound recordings of different cities. Biomimetics is a film that superimposes a digital augmentation to real-life footage, known as augmented reality.
This fictional documentary is conceived on an evolving basis combining the real and the virtual, using videos and photographs sometimes reworked with 2D and 3D digital tools. Biomimetics explores in a fictional and prospective mode what could be created in terms of urban forms and social organisations in India, the country where the project was born.
“The inflections I make on reality are intended to modify its nature, to extend it in order to question it.”
Pierre Jean- Giloux will tour in Bangalore, Trivandrum , Chandigarh and Ahmedabad as part of this project
Pierre Jean Giloux is a French artist positioned at the convergence of several practices- sound, video and image, with which he creates graphic interventions that challenge conventional perceptions of reality and generate “reconstructed worlds”. His films are presented as immersive installations, where the spectator is invited to roam inside multi-devices screens. The borders between computer generated images and real images become blurred and give free rein to the observers to invent their own stories.
