A Book, a Film, a Conversation

Dancer, Choreographer, Director & Translator Annette Leday and Cyrille Larrieu, Film Director from France will present their book and film Dance India Today. They expand on the survey on Indian contemporary dance, conducted by Annette, just before the Covid lockdowns. She conducted a series of interviews in India, with dancers and choreographers of contemporary and classical backgrounds. Along with Cyrille Larrieu, a film was eventually made that includes excerpts of interviews alternate with images of work and teaching as well as extracts of their creations. It presents some of the faces engaged in a renewal of the traditions and artistes of the new generation open to the world and to its many body and dance techniques.
The screening will be followed by a conversation with dancer Daksha Seth and an interactive session with the audience.
