Jai Guru

On the occasion of International Women’s day, Alliance Française de Trivandrum in association with the Embassy of France in India presents JAI GURU, an exhibition of paintings by Allennott.

Allennott, a former student of College of Fine Arts, Thiruvananthapuram, deeply believes in the evolutionary power of art. He believes each of his paintings is a history of his own evolution. He has been in search of broken roots of our culture, which he has been trying to find since his childhood. “I remember my first artistic experience was in age of Three or four years while I was looking at some paintings from a Calendar. The paintings were about Indian miniatures .Then many paintings and Masters shocked my consciousness, time to time.” Through his paintings he is “ trying to get something invisible through visible”. For him this effort is “spiritual: something universal and sacred”. “Jai Guru” a collection of paintings, focuses on women: the focal point of society in general and family in particular. Allennott has already exhibited his works in:
