This exhibition, Under Eiffel’s Watch – A Parisian Canvas, represents a critical
engagement with the visual, cultural, and historical dimensions of Paris as
articulated through the lens of its most iconic landmark, the Eiffel Tower. Drawing
upon the aesthetic and philosophical frameworks of Magnum Photographers, this
body of work interrogates the interplay between monumentality and ephemerality,
situating the Eiffel Tower as both a steadfast symbol of Parisian identity and an
active participant in the city’s evolving urban narratives.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Srinath G M — A research-led visual artist and creative
storyteller specialising in documentary filmmaking,
photography, and media practice. My work explores personal
narratives to uncover untold stories that resonate within
broader social, cultural, and political contexts. Through
advertorial and documercial photography, alongside my role
as an educator, I aim to provoke thought, challenge
perspectives, and contribute to ongoing dialogues in
contemporary visual culture.
