Alliance Française de Trivandrum   will screen

Le Nom Des Gens’ (The Names of Love) as part of October Cinéclub.

Director Michel Leclerc and his co-writer Baya Kasmi illuminate the ethnic, racial and religious issues that have beset France from  World WarII to the present — through, surprisingly, the unfolding of a classic  romantic comedy plot.

The film was awarded two César Awards  in 2011, including best female lead for Sara Forestier and best writing.

The film is semi-biographical, documenting the life of a young woman who uses sex as a weapon to influence right-wing individuals and religious militants. Baya Benmahmoud (Sara Forestier ) a young left-wing activist, sleeps with her political opponents in order to manipulate them to her cause until she finds her match in Arthur Martin (Jacques Gamblin).
