Alliance Française de Trivandrum  will organize a musical evening with Ensemble Maurice on 23 January , 6.30pm @ Alliance Française de Trivandrum.

French artists Pascale Labbé and Jean Morières will produce “primitive and contemporary music” .

Mélodie française is a musical style that flourished at the turn of the twentieth century. The harmonic innovation and highlighting the musicality of the poems by the melody characterize this beautiful and unique vocal repertoire.

Pascale Labbé and  Jean Morières deliver a musical palindrome that  borders on jazz and ethnic music, creating  haunting songs that carry listeners to far away  places where redundant music is improvised.

Here is a top-flight musical dialogue between the flute of Jean Morières and voice of Pascale Labbé, rousing a subtle and refined musical journey. Pascale’s sensual singing – which integrates whispers, fragments of words, poems, imaginary languages – accompanies the sounds produced by Jean’s flute-like instrument, the “Zavrila”.
