‘A taste of France’: A cheese presentation and tasting evening on 26 August, 6.00 pm @ Alliance Française de Trivandrum.
‘A taste of France’ will give you an interesting insight into French cooking tradition and savoir-faire. Besides the presentation on cheese-making by Mr. Max LAEDERICH, head of Mango Hill, there will be cheese tasting, with the nuances of different varieties of cheese explained. Different varieties of cheese like Feta, the Greek cheese, Borsalino, the herbs & spices cheese-spread, Cheddar, Gruyere, Camembert, Buchette , the blue cheese etc will be introduced and will be presented for tasting.
Cheese is a refined product and a large part of French culture, yet not widely produced in India. Mango Hill, a French hotel and restaurant based in Pondicherry has been producing such rare delicacies in India for years to provide a unique mix of Indian and French traditions.
