2) Talk with Annette Leday: (2:30 pm)

French director and choreographer Annette Leday will give a talk on Zoom at the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Alliance Française de Trivandrum.

The talk will focus on the collaborative creative work of her company that involves Indian Malayali and French performers over the years. Annette Leday will also give more information on the progress of S.THALA, her forthcoming new work inspired by French famous writer Mrs Marguerite Duras.

Writer, playwright, screenwriter and film director, Marguerite Duras (1914-1996) is one of the major figures in the French literary and artistic world. In her multiform corpus, the texts and films of the “Indian cycle” occupy a central place. By revisiting Duras’ fantasized India in this cycle and the very real one at the heart of the productions of Annette Leday/Cie Keli, the choreographer proposes to question the Durassian work in order to create a new choreographic and theatrical piece nurtured by her organic literary writings.

The talk will be accompanied by the projection of short diaporamas and videos.
