Campus France presentation at Alliance Francaise de Trivandrum for the public on the 21st of March 2015 at 3.30pm to brief on the scope of Higher Studies in France and introduce Campus France and its activitiesStudents will get a detailed presentation of course options in France, visa facilitation measures and scholarship opportunities. They will also gain a better understanding of career opportunities in the 450 French companies present in India today. It would also include an interactive Q & A followed by a quickcounseling session for those interested.
Campus France is the governmental agency promoting French higher education, functioning under the aegis of the Embassy of France in India. It currently has offices in ten Indian cities: Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai Pune and Kochi. Indian students come to Campus France to meet the Campus France counsellors, who provides them with documentation and advice on studies in France. The Campus France counsellors can also contact the French institutions the student is interested in to submit their application. Campus France organizes direct meetings between French Schools and Indian students in various Indian cities twice a year during the Campus France Admission Tour.In Cochin, the Campus France office is located in Chavara Cultural Centre within the premises of Alliance Francaise de Trivandrum-Cochin Annexe.
In order to provide a boost for Indian students, the French Embassy has developed several scholarship programmes tailored to train the brightest students in India. Indian students who wish to study in France can now apply for more than 300 scholarships worth over one million euros for the academic year 2014-15,which corresponds to an increase of almost one crore rupees compared to 2013-14 and a 15% increase in the number of scholarships. Selected for their academic excellence, the 2015 scholarship awardees will be pursuing various programmes: 3-month research training in a French laboratory; a semester under an exchange programme between their Institute and its partner in France; or an academic year to complete a specialized Master’s degree. The benefits of these scholarships include a monthly stipend to cover daily expenditure, free student visa, medical insurance coverage and assistance in finding affordable student accommodation in France.
