With the stage name of Jean du Voyage music could only be described as nomadic and therefore universal.
Beatmaker, producer, turntablist and DJ titled (DMC, IDA, TKO) Jean is a passionate musician who lugs around his turntables and vinyl scenes in clubs since 1998.
An eclectic sound explorer, his interest in different cultures sharpened his sensitivity to the rhythms and breaths of our planet, which in turn inspired and influenced his music. The productions are controlled, accurate and reflect his insatiable curiosity.
His first album Mantra is composed of haunting sounds of cinematic moods and varied soundscapes. The guests present participate in the plurality of the album in sublimating their personalities by the emotions generated by the production. A poetic and dream like world is produced that invites evasion and introspection.
Mantra reveals an authentic work, reflecting a true generosity and openness to multiculturalism of this world.
DJ Workshop with Jean du Voyage :
Jean du Voyage will be conducting a workshop on initiation to music through the ‘Scratch’ technique. The workshop is aimed at 7 to 77 year olds, irrespective of their knowledge in music.
A 3 hour workshop will be conducted on 10 November, 5.00pm @ Alliance Française de Trivandrum. He will begin by explaining fundamental theories and presenting the equipment used (turntable, vinyl, mixer console…).
This will be followed by practical exercises to learn different scratch techniques.
The workshop will end with a demonstration by the artist and with a improve session with the participants.
