Rencontre avec un singe remarquable: Kathakali by two French artists, Michel Lestréhan and Julien Touati on 11 January, 6.30pm at Vyloppilly Samskrithi Bhavan.
The show, inspired by Kathakali, is an invitation to travel, to discover a culture with multiple colors for a full story of dreams and magic … This show revolves around the two characters:
- The hero Bhima, young and exuberant with speech and contemporary dance,
• His wise and mischievous big brother, Hanuman, with costume, makeup and codified sign language.
This performance is a veritable mix of two worlds, where they confront and enhance each other: the body dynamics of contemporary dancer, without costume, and traditional Kathakali character with its stylized gestures.
The evening starts with two Improvised plays, which are productions by AF Theatre workshop. One of the plays will be performed by children while the other will be an act by adults.
