TCF-Test de connaissance du français

The TCF is the French language test awarded by the French Ministry of Education:

TCF assesses a person’s level of French language for general purposes. It is intended for people who are not native French speakers and who, for professional, personal or academic reasons, wish to have their competency in French assessed and certified simply, reliably and quickly.

TCF for General Public

This TCF test is intended for anybody who wants to have their French language skills assessed for personal or professional reasons.


TCF for Quebec

This test can only be taken by people who submit an immigration application at a Quebec  immigration office or at Délégations Générales du Québec, Quebec government offices abroad to provide proof of their level of competency in French.
